A Mimosa Networks Case Study
Entre Solutions II, an IT solutions provider, was tasked with upgrading the outdated and unreliable wireless networks at McLean County Unit District No. 5's two high schools. The district's athletics department needed a robust, high-capacity network to support new video broadcasting initiatives for remote viewing of sports events, connecting various athletic grounds and press boxes. To meet this challenge, Entre Solutions II selected a fixed wireless solution from vendor Mimosa Networks.
The solution deployed utilized Mimosa's B5 and B5c backhaul radios for point-to-point links and A5 access points with C5x client radios for point-to-multipoint connectivity. This implementation achieved impressive results, with the multipoint links delivering 500 Mbps and the backhaul links reaching 1 Gbps. The successful Mimosa Networks deployment not only enabled live game streaming but also created new educational opportunities for broadcasting students and led to additional projects for the integrator, significantly improving connectivity and security across the school district.
