Advantenon Partners with Mimosa and State Government to Deliver Fiber-Fast Fixed Wireless

Advantenon, a wireless internet service provider in rural Minnesota, faced the challenge of bringing affordable high-speed broadband to hard-to-reach communities in Wilkin, Grant, and Stevens counties. Using funding from the State’s Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant Program, it aimed to connect unserved households, businesses, and community anchor institutions with fiber-like service that traditional fiber deployment could not economically reach.

Working with Mimosa Networks, Advantenon deployed fixed wireless using B11 backhaul radios, A5c access points, and C5/C5c client devices to deliver speeds up to 100 Mbps, and 250 Mbps for some business customers. Mimosa Networks helped cut the cost per subscriber from an estimated $40,000 for fiber to about $1,000, enabled service rollout in just two months, and delivered an ROI of 24 months while improving internet access for more than 650 rural subscribers.
