Tonkon Torp LLP switches from Postini to Mimecast to eliminate spam, ensure business continuity

Tonkon Torp LLP, a 200-user Pacific Northwest law firm, relied heavily on email but was experiencing increasing spam, spoofing and virus incidents and suffered significant downtime with its Postini AS/AV solution. With email being a mission-critical application, the firm needed a cloud-based solution that would ensure continuity during server outages, reduce security incidents, and minimize help-desk burden.

Tonkon Torp implemented Mimecast’s cloud-based AS/AV and continuity service, migrating inbound/outbound mail, linking to Active Directory and moving to Exchange 2010. The change produced virtually uninterrupted email service with seamless failover, eliminated viruses/spoofing, cut spam/virus help-desk calls by about 90%, improved network performance and user productivity (up to five extra hours per user weekly), and simplified licensing and IT operations.
