The Education Alliance Protects Students and Their Education

The Education Alliance is a Yorkshire-based Multi Academy Trust serving roughly 6,000 students and around 600 staff. Faced with a surge in ransomware and email-based threats—and finding Microsoft’s native protections insufficient to block malicious URLs or provide user training—the Trust needed a more proactive, comprehensive email-security solution to protect students and reduce manual IT workload.

They implemented Mimecast’s Email Security suite (including URL Protect, Attachment Protect, Impersonation Protect, Internal Email Protect and Awareness Training), which blocked a malicious link that had bypassed the gateway and enabled easy domain blocking for users at work or home. The deployment reduced manual processes, freed IT time, boosted user security awareness, and strengthened the Trust’s defenses against ransomware and account takeovers.
