Rockwell Diamonds “dramatically” cuts viruses and spam with Mimecast

Rockwell Diamonds, a mid-tier, publicly listed diamond mining company operating three sites in South Africa with about 100 email users, faced stringent compliance and governance requirements and chronic email problems. Relying on Microsoft Exchange without specialized spam or virus protection left the business vulnerable—an outage once disrupted shareholder communications—and the company needed secure, scalable archiving to meet Sarbanes-Oxley–style obligations and support growth.

Rockwell deployed Mimecast’s cloud Email Security and Email Archiving, which was configured quickly alongside its Exchange server. The cloud service removed local server load, provided elastic capacity and central retention control, and delivered instant user access to archived mail; most importantly, it dramatically reduced spam and virus incidents, cut storage and capital costs, and simplified ongoing administration.
