Oklahoma Office of Management & Enterprise Services Achieves Optimal “State” of Security with Mimecast

The Oklahoma Office of Management & Enterprise Services (OMES) supports core state functions—from finance and HR to technology—and in 2019 its Oklahoma Cyber Command was asked to strengthen the state’s cybersecurity. With email as the primary communication channel and top attack vector, OMES struggled with outdated gateways across 14 systems that required manual rules and verification, leaving the state exposed to millions of daily email-based threats (61.5 million attacks cited).

OMES deployed the full Mimecast suite—Email Security, DMARC Analyzer, Brand Protection, Security Awareness Training, plus Secure Messaging and Large File Send—consolidating email protection on a single platform. The initiative produced a dramatic reduction in spam, malware and fraud tickets, automated threat detection and faster response, simplified email management, and integrated orchestration with firewall, endpoint, SIEM and threat intelligence tools to strengthen the state’s overall cybersecurity posture.
