Mimecast resolves Gijima email archiving

Gijima, a Johannesburg Stock Exchange–listed IT solutions provider with 70 offices across southern Africa and about 1,000 email users, confronted major email-management challenges as it encouraged mobile working. Employee .pst use undermined record-retention and governance, while intermittent Exchange downtime, spam and mobile-device security risks threatened availability and compliance.

Gijima deployed Mimecast’s Unified Email Management cloud service to deliver archiving, continuity, security and mobile access with centralized administration and AD policy integration. Since the 2010 rollout the company reports no downtime, resolved record-retention compliance, a significant reduction in spam and secure archive access on mobile devices (over 3,000 handsets/tablets), freeing IT to focus on higher-value work.
