Mimecast helps broadcaster Network 10 eliminate email-borne malware and false positives

Network 10, one of Australia’s free-to-air broadcasters with about 1,200 email users, faced a rising tide of malicious email and URL attacks that threatened its fast-paced news operations. The IT team wanted a proactive, low‑false‑positive email management solution that would stop malware at the gateway while ensuring timely delivery of legitimate, business‑critical messages in their Office 365 environment.

After a proof‑of‑concept, Network 10 deployed Mimecast Email Security for its cloud design, strong filtering, archiving and tight Office 365 integration, alongside staff training to spot phishing. The platform now filters nearly 3,000,000 emails monthly, blocking 80% of inbound messages and detecting about 50 malware samples and 250 potential whaling attacks per month; Network 10 reports no URL‑type incidents since implementation, fewer false positives, and freed IT resources.
