Mimecast Earns Top Grades for Email Security from the University of Chichester

The University of Chichester, a 183‑year‑old UK institution serving about 5,500 students and 1,000 staff, needed stronger, scalable email security as impersonation attacks and digital workloads grew. Its existing Exchange Online Protection was insufficient for rising URL/attachment threats, and IT wanted a solution that improved protection without adding significant administrative overhead.

The university deployed Mimecast Perimeter Defense, Internal Email Protect and Sync & Recover (later adding DMARC Analyzer), integrating with Office 365 and a Palo Alto Wildfire firewall. Onboarding completed in three weeks; remediation time for malicious messages fell from 20–30 minutes to a couple of clicks, suspect emails flagged increased tenfold, inbox spam and impersonation attempts dropped, and fewer outgoing messages landed in recipients’ junk folders.
