A Mimecast Case Study
The Cleveland Indians, a Major League Baseball franchise, relied on email for nearly every aspect of their operations but faced growing email volumes, user-created PST files, an aging anti-spam/anti-virus appliance, and a small IT staff of six. An attempted on-premise archiving rollout stalled, prompting the team to seek a cloud-based solution that would eliminate PSTs, improve AS/AV protection, and provide 100% email continuity.
The team cancelled the original vendor and implemented Mimecast’s cloud-based archiving, continuity, and AS/AV services—an implementation that took about 10 hours. The result: PSTs were eliminated, users can retrieve messages in seconds, planned outages had no user impact, spam and virus exposure declined, five servers were retired, and the IT group saved roughly 120 hours annually.
