Mediclinic makes the most of mail management with Mimecast

Mediclinic Southern Africa, a private hospital group with 52 hospitals and about 5,500 email users, was struggling with regulatory and operational risk from an unsustainable in‑house email archive. With the organisation dependent on email for admissions, authorisations and other critical processes and handling roughly 5–5.5 million messages a month, Mediclinic needed a future‑proof solution to ensure compliance, searchable records and reduced infrastructure burden.

Working with ITCS, Mediclinic implemented Mimecast’s cloud‑based archiving, security and continuity services, delivering compliant, easily searchable eDiscovery and centrally managed brand stationery. The deployment (started in 2011) cut spam by about 85%, sped up investigations and reporting, improved governance across international operations, and produced a strong ROI in risk reduction and operational efficiency as the group expands into the UAE and Switzerland.
