Liberata, a UK business process provider with more than 2,500 employees across 20+ locations, identified after a 2007 risk assessment that its disparate email tools left it exposed on archiving, compliance and spam/virus protection. Manual spam release, the need to support a large mobile workforce, and a drive to cut costs made an in‑house archiving build impractical.

By January 2008 Liberata had deployed Mimecast’s SaaS email security, archiving and continuity service, giving a tamper‑proof archive with instant access to up to 10 years of email, uninterrupted access during Exchange outages, 99.5% spam blocking and 100% virus elimination. The solution reduced administration, removed the need for a mirrored Exchange rollout (saving tens of thousands), delivered dramatic cost savings, freed IT to focus on strategic projects, and is now being resold to Liberata’s customers.
