Ecommerce company ensures email deliverability and cuts phishing attacks on customers

A Dutch ecommerce company that sends millions of emails monthly from a database of about 850,000 addresses relied on email for customer communication and sales. Their domains were being spoofed, customers were targeted by phishing, and several ISPs had blacklisted the company—causing legitimate emails to be marked as spam and harming business, with limited visibility into sending sources.

The company deployed Mimecast DMARC Analyzer and used Mimecast’s managed DMARC specialist to collect reports, align SPF/DKIM, and remediate sending sources (including a quarantine/subdomain approach for a forwarding-prone source). Within a year all domains were protected, email deliverability improved so messages reached customers’ inboxes, and phishing attacks spoofing the company’s domains were eliminated.
