BLM LLP, a UK and Ireland insurance and risk law firm with 1,700 employees across 13 offices, relies on email for client instructions and daily operations. Rising targeted email attacks—malicious URLs and weaponized Office/PDF attachments—were creating a heavy IT burden, with incidents tying up teams for days and risking disruption to customer service and the firm’s reputation.

BLM deployed Mimecast Targeted Threat Protection—first URL Protect, then Attachment Protect—to provide real‑time URL scanning, rewriting and attachment sandboxing. The solution blocked 121 unsafe attachments and 29 malicious links in one month, sandboxes roughly 37,000 attachments weekly, and has sharply reduced incident response time and support overhead, helping protect employees, client data and business continuity.
