Bech-Bruun Simplifies Email Encryption with Mimecast Secure Messaging

Danish law firm Bech‑Bruun, with more than 500 specialist employees using PCs and company iOS devices, needed a simpler way to exchange highly sensitive client information (health, insurance and confidential stock‑exchange data) while preparing for proposed EU privacy rules. Existing approaches—encrypted ZIP files that triggered spam filters and were hard to open on mobile, and complex domain‑authentication tools like SPF/DMARC—created friction and administrative overhead.

Mimecast Secure Messaging, integrated into lawyers’ familiar Microsoft Outlook client and a branded secure web portal, enabled easy, device‑friendly sending and receiving of secure messages and attachments with granular controls (delivery confirmation, recall, expiry, print/reply restrictions). The result was simplified email encryption, preserved efficient workflows, reduced admin time and costs, and increased client confidence through a customized, secure access experience.
