Yarra Honda’s new four‑level Melbourne showroom faced the challenge of delivering complete, high‑quality video coverage that would both identify people at perimeter and entry points and support interior process monitoring across showroom, offices and service areas — all while remaining manageable by in‑house IT, bandwidth‑efficient and scalable to other dealerships.

The dealer installed 85 Axis PoE cameras (Axis Q1755 for perimeter ID and Axis 216 for interior monitoring) with Milestone XProtect Enterprise running on off‑the‑shelf Dual Xeon servers, SAN storage and a dedicated surveillance VLAN/UPS. The solution delivered low server and network load (unicast streaming, master/slave architecture), easy remote access and simple maintenance, about two weeks of footage retention, and has produced clear evidence used in police investigations (including a laptop theft), improved staff responsiveness and proven easy to scale.
