Woonsocket Housing Authority reports less crime over a decade of reliable security using Milestone surveillance

Woonsocket Housing Authority, which manages seven public-housing sites and about 3,000 residents—including many elderly and disabled—faced scattered multi‑building security challenges: assaults, vandalism, parking lot break‑ins, homeless vagrancy and illegal dumping that put vulnerable tenants at risk and strained city resources.

WHA deployed Milestone XProtect® Enterprise across a wireless network with cameras in lobbies, elevators, parking lots and a central 24/7 monitoring server, installed and supported by Milestone partner Danetech (with hardware re‑used from donated PCs). Features such as PTZ/IR cameras, TV‑channel emergency messaging, backups and evidence export to police made the system highly reliable; over a decade crime rates fell substantially, incidents were resolved more quickly and residents report feeling much safer.
