Volvo Powertrain shows the way with an IP video surveillance solution from Milestone Systems

Volvo Powertrain, a major Volvo Group engine manufacturer in Skövde, faced an outdated, proprietary analog surveillance system that was expensive to maintain and inflexible. The company needed a scalable, future-proof solution that could reuse existing cameras, support PTZ control and gate management, and integrate with other security systems.

Working with Securitas Systems, Volvo deployed Milestone XProtect Enterprise running on an Axis video server, mixing existing analog cameras with new IP cameras and integrating alarms and access control via Securimaster3. The result is a scalable, easy-to-manage platform with higher image quality, better situational awareness for guards, improved internal process monitoring and employee safety, and lower ongoing costs with room to expand into wireless and mobile monitoring.
