The Vienna Technical Museum wanted its “Future of the City” exhibition to demonstrate how video, access control and alarm management will make tomorrow’s cities smarter and safer, while maintaining the high quality and flexibility required for a museum display. The challenge was to present real-world, interactive examples of situational awareness and integrated systems in a way that was easy for visitors and staff to operate.

The museum teamed with Milestone, ESSECCA, SALTO and Sony to deploy Milestone XProtect Corporate with a Smart Wall, Sony cameras (including a 360° fisheye), SALTO ProAccess and JustIN Mobile BLE, and CogVis people-counting analytics, all integrated by ESSECCA. The result was an interactive exhibit with a multi-view video wall, real-time occupancy stats, smartphone BLE access and alarm-triggered camera focus—delivering intuitive operation, improved situational awareness, secure access control and a compelling demonstration of future smart-city applications.
