Utah universities achieve statewide adoption of open platform IP video

Utah State University needed to replace a limited stand-alone analog surveillance setup that could only be viewed from single locations, making campus-wide security and video playback difficult to manage. The university wanted a more comprehensive, centralized system that could better support police investigations and make use of existing cameras and infrastructure, with Milestone Systems’ XProtect VMS as the platform.

Milestone Systems implemented an open-platform IP video solution using Milestone XProtect Corporate, Axis cameras, and Axis encoders to connect older analog devices. The result was 435 cameras across USU sites, centralized monitoring, faster incident response, clearer evidence for investigations, and easier system management with just two administrators; the system also supported non-security uses like remote farm monitoring.
