Totalbanken, a Danish regional bank with nine branches and about 75 employees, faced aging analog surveillance systems that varied by branch and required staff to travel for maintenance or footage retrieval. The bank engaged Atea to modernize and centralize surveillance so the IT team in Aarup could remotely manage systems and get higher-quality images — a need made urgent when two masked robbers stole 136,000 DKK just 48 hours after Atea installed the new system in the Tommerup branch.

Atea deployed IP megapixel cameras and Milestone XProtect software, delivering 1.3–5 MP images (vs. 0.41 MP analog) with H.264 efficiency, remote access, easier copying and zooming, and integration with other security systems. The clear digital footage aided police in identifying and arresting one suspect, validated the investment, reduced on-site work for IT, and set the bank on course to standardize the upgraded system across all branches.
