South East Water, which serves more than 1.7 million customers across southeast Melbourne and manages over $3 billion in water and sewer infrastructure, faced fragmented legacy CCTV systems that limited monitoring, integration and rapid response. The utility sought an open, flexible IP video and access-control platform to protect assets, reduce site costs and support its technology and innovation strategy.

South East Water deployed about 400 Axis network cameras on Milestone XProtect Corporate, integrated with Inner Range Integriti access control, license-plate recognition and Milestone Mobile, with Elaren Security handling installation and high-level integration. The centralized, mobile-enabled solution delivered faster incident response, higher-quality video for investigations, automated parking and unified control of cameras and doors, while lowering integration costs and improving overall asset security and operations.
