Case Study: Seattle Mariners achieve scalable stadium security and faster incident response with Milestone Systems

A Milestone Systems Case Study

Preview of the Seattle Mariners Case Study

Seattle Mariners Continually Upgrade Safeco Field Security with IP Video Platform

Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners and host to more than 2 million fans annually, faced an aging analog CCTV system installed in 1999 that was expensive to maintain and impractical to scale. With 114 legacy analog cameras tied to coaxial cabling, the stadium needed a more efficient, monitorable solution to protect guests, staff and assets without prohibitive rewiring costs.

The Mariners deployed Milestone XProtect VMS and Milestone Mobile—implemented by Differential Networks—digitizing older cameras with Axis and Sony encoders and bringing 222 cameras onto an IP network. The open, scalable system improved live monitoring and forensic review, enabled mobile access and shared user permissions, integrated concession cameras, lowered expansion costs and made it far faster to export video for investigations, significantly strengthening stadium security and operational flexibility.
