Sasol Convenience Centre on Voortrekker Road in Krugersdorp, Johannesburg, faced significant crime and loss challenges common to filling stations — late-night trading, on-site cash handling, easy public access and limited security led to forecourt incidents, shop shrinkage and disputed card charge-backs. Management identified a world-class surveillance solution as essential to deter crime, reduce losses and protect staff and customers.

The Surveillance Factory installed an IP-based system using Axis network cameras (including AXIS P1344 and AXIS 233D) and Milestone XProtect recording servers, providing high-resolution, day/night and PTZ coverage with time-stamped, license-plate-capable footage. Since deployment the station has seen a drastic decline in shrinkage, improved customer service and staff discipline, has assisted police with evidence, and achieved payback in under two years while retaining easy scalability for future needs.
