Protecting the judiciary system in Costa Rica with Milestone XProtect

Sonivision, a Costa Rican systems integrator, partnered with the national judiciary to modernize security across 31 key courthouse buildings after rising crime threatened employees and visitors. The challenge was to deploy a high‑quality, centrally manageable IP video solution that could cover sites of widely varying size and traffic (about 181,000 visitors/month and ~10,000 staff) while integrating reliably with existing security suppliers.

The team implemented Milestone XProtect Enterprise with 164 Sony IP cameras, WAN‑connected local monitoring centers and roughly 30 operators, complemented by staged operator and IT training. The solution delivered remote real‑time and recorded viewing, intelligent search and greater operational efficiency—enabling remote intelligence work, boosting perceived community security and prompting expansion (adding 234 cameras in San José) as analog systems are phased out.
