Port of Algeciras ranks most efficient and anchors security with flexible video management software

The Port of Algeciras, one of Spain’s largest and Europe’s most efficient ports, needed a stronger, more flexible approach to protecting critical infrastructure across a highly complex and busy transport hub. Working with Milestone Systems, the port aimed to improve security, support multiple stakeholders, and manage more than 700 cameras while adapting to evolving regulatory and operational needs.

Milestone Systems implemented an open video management platform using XProtect® Corporate VMS, Smart Maps, Smart Wall, and BriefCam video analytics. The solution gave APBA broad control and visibility across nearly 90% of the Port of Algeciras and Tarifa service areas, delivered significant time savings by making it easy to locate cameras, and improved post-event analysis for security teams, helping strengthen efficiency and resilience.
