Phoenix Police Secure Tri-City National Sporting Events with Open Platform Video Management Software

The Phoenix Police Department was tasked with securing two major national sporting events that brought more than half a million people to the Phoenix/Glendale/Scottsdale area, requiring multi-city coordination among federal, transit, and local agencies. They needed a flexible, interoperable system to manage large crowds, maintain situational awareness across jurisdictions, and minimize incidents in a complex, multi-vendor camera environment.

Using Milestone XProtect VMS with Milestone Interconnect, Smart Client and CARE Premium, the team established a multi-agency coordination center (MACC) linked by dedicated fiber to aggregate diverse camera feeds, real‑time calls-for-service and vehicle locations. Mobile web access let personnel stream video to phones and tablets, enabling faster responses and simplified training; the deployment improved incident management, kept attendees safe during the events, and earned industry recognition.
