Ottumwa Police prove Milestone protects and serves

The Ottumwa Police Department in Ottumwa, Iowa — serving a community of about 25,000 — sought an affordable, easy-to-use way to reduce thefts, vandalism and other street-level crimes and to improve conviction rates without adding complexity for 911 operators and dispatchers.

Working with ETI and Current Technologies, the city deployed Milestone XProtect® Enterprise VMS with 32 Axis PTZ cameras over a Motorola wireless LAN, providing live HD feeds, 30-day archived video and simple point-and-click controls. The system enabled faster response, clearer evidence for prosecutions, publicized convictions to build community support, and contributed to a significant reduction in crime across the city.
