Sicurtel, a 20-year security integrator, was contracted to secure a newly built 9.4 MW solar farm near Turin and faced a demanding brief: protect a roughly 4,000 m perimeter subject to electromagnetic interference from 12 inverters, meet legal limits on nighttime lighting (so cameras must work without lights), and provide a sturdy, scalable network to carry security, video surveillance and electricity-production monitoring on a single platform.

Sicurtel deployed a closed-ring fiber-optic Ethernet infrastructure with industrial field switches and integrated 28 CIAS microwave barriers, 11 Videotec IR cameras, IB‑system converters and Milestone XProtect® Corporate VMS (with XProtect Smart Client and Mobile). The VMS links alarms to pre-set cameras, sends video to a control room, enables remote maintenance and I/O control (e.g., perimeter lighting on alarm), and delivers real-time production data—resulting in faster, verifiable responses, centralized control, lower operational costs and a scalable platform for future upgrades.
