Olympic readiness with flexible video handles healthcare needs today and tomorrow

Valenciennes General Hospital, France’s largest general hospital and a major regional employer, needed a way to strengthen security and emergency readiness across a sprawling campus while supporting high patient volumes. The hospital also faced rising cybersecurity concerns and the need to prepare for major incidents during the 2024 Olympic Games. It used Milestone Systems’ XProtect Corporate VMS and XProtect Smart Wall, along with video, access control, LPR, and AI integrations to support daily operations.

Milestone Systems implemented an open-platform video management solution that connected surveillance, access control, license plate recognition, and vehicle tracking across more than 200 cameras. The system enabled remote management of site entrances, improved ambulance and transport flow, and helped the ER use AI to predict patient activity up to five days in advance with 91–92% accuracy. As a result, Valenciennes General Hospital improved security, emergency preparedness, and resource planning, while better managing over 500 ambulances a day.
