Municipal airport uses Milestone IP video surveillance with Sony network cameras for more than just security

Los Banos Airport, a 24/7 municipal general aviation facility near Silicon Valley, needed a way to improve safety, manage remote operations and stop lost revenue from users who weren’t paying for fuel and services. With no full-time staff on site and extreme summer heat at the field, the city sought a reliable, remotely accessible surveillance solution that could also support contractor oversight and future expansion.

The city worked with Ojo Technology to install Milestone XProtect software and Sony SNC‑RZ30N network cameras in heat‑managed domes, recording 24/7 with motion‑based speed‑up and RAID storage for nearly a month of retained footage. The system enabled payment recovery by identifying aircraft, remote fuel‑gauge monitoring to reduce site visits, contractor supervision, and daily maintenance checks; it proved stable, secure and scalable for planned airport growth and broader city use.
