Bolton Community College and Bolton Sixth Form College moved into two new, adjacent state-of-the-art campuses (over £100m investment) and needed to provide a safe, open learning environment for thousands of students. Key challenges included securing large perimeters, protecting valuable equipment and “hot zones,” deterring anti‑social behaviour, and enabling rapid, evidential-quality video access for staff and police.

Boston Networks implemented Milestone XProtect Enterprise to manage 220 Panasonic IP cameras across a 10GBASE-T/Cat6A network with ~5,000m of fiber and extensive wiring. The solution delivered centralized, scalable monitoring with maps, motion zoning, rapid retrieval and remote access—giving college managers a responsive tool for incident management, asset protection and day‑to‑day site operations.
