Lagos de Carrasco, a semi-private residential community near Montevideo that stretches across two islands, faced rising security concerns as its aging surveillance system deteriorated from humidity, power and cabling issues while the neighborhood remained easily accessible from city streets. Residents sought a reliable, higher-resolution monitoring solution that could span both islands, operate under constrained bandwidth and improve incident detection and response.

Milestone partner Foxsys deployed Milestone XProtect Professional 2017R1 VMS and 34 Hikvision and Arecont Vision IP cameras on a new IP network with wireless links and distributed power points. The solution’s mapping, alarm and virtual‑line detection, omni-directional cameras and bandwidth optimization reduced staffing needs, improved real-time and remote monitoring and enabled pre‑analysis to prevent crime; the community is now expanding coverage and planning advanced analytics and license‑plate recognition in future phases.
