K&S Freighters secures busy site and damage-safe transport with Milestone XProtect® IP video management software

K&S Freighters, a national road, rail and coastal carrier, needed a scalable security solution for its busy 25-hectare Truganina site—home to ~300 staff, hundreds of trucks (including after-hours and third‑party traffic) and frequent incidents of vandalism, vehicle damage and on-site accidents. The site required comprehensive monitoring, fast incident resolution and a system that allowed central management with local and remote access for different departments.

K&S deployed Milestone XProtect IP video management (upgraded over time) to manage a mix of PTZ, high‑resolution megapixel and legacy cameras over the existing Cisco data network, running on a dedicated HP server. The platform’s user access controls, motion‑based recording, PTZ “speed up on movement,” easy export and digital-zoom capabilities let staff and police quickly review high-quality footage; the result was resolved vandalism cases, clear evidence for police and insurers, low training needs, remote viewing for managers and significant savings by using standard IT infrastructure.
