Treviglas Community College, an 11–18 comprehensive in Newquay serving about 1,200 students, faced rising security needs as the campus expanded. Its aging 1995 analogue CCTV system suffered poor image quality, frequent outages and maintenance issues, leaving staff unable to reliably identify individuals or monitor high‑traffic areas like corridors, stairwells and playing fields.

Perkins Communications upgraded the site to an IP‑surveillance system using Axis network and PoE cameras, Axis video servers and Milestone XProtect on a Dell storage server, deploying 27 cameras including a PTZ for wide coverage. The new system delivers high‑quality, motion‑triggered footage with secure access, reduced vandalism and smoking, faster incident resolution, lower cabling/power costs through PoE, and a scalable, reliable platform for future expansion and integration with access control.
