How open platform video is closing the loop on safety for Dover Speedway

Dover International Speedway needed a reliable way to manage safety and security for huge crowds at NASCAR races and the Firefly Festival, where attendance can reach nearly 50,000 on race days and more than 70,000 for concerts. Working with Milestone Systems and its open platform video management solution, the venue sought a system that could be flexible, scalable, and able to support continuous monitoring of the complex.

Milestone Systems implemented XProtect video management software, Mobile Client, and Husky NVRs with AXIS cameras to create a live, shareable surveillance network across the speedway. The solution enabled real-time mobile video from staff in the field, faster incident response, better crowd and traffic management, and collaboration with law enforcement, EMS, and DOT. The system has performed reliably 100% of the time, helping staff open gates during congestion, respond quickly to emergencies, and improve post-event operations.
