Case Study: Glasgow Lighthouse achieves wireless, scalable IP CCTV and enhanced monitoring with Milestone Systems

A Milestone Systems Case Study

Preview of the Glasgow Lighthouse Case Study

Glasgow Lighthouse - Customer Case Study

The Lighthouse, Scotland’s national centre for architecture and design housed in the renovated 1895 Charles Rennie Mackintosh Glasgow Herald building, needed a modern CCTV upgrade that respected its historic fabric and charitable trust budget constraints. King Communications & Security Ltd, working with ADI-GARDINER, was tasked with replacing an aging analog system with a solution that minimized disruption, supported wireless access across the building, and improved protection for high-value exhibitions and visitor areas.

King Communications converted 16 existing analog cameras into an IP CCTV network using Axis video servers and Milestone XProtect Professional, integrating the system with the building’s wireless infrastructure and even connecting disabled-toilet alarms. The install took less than a week, saved on camera replacement costs, delivered higher image quality and extended storage, and produced a scalable, futureproof platform that allows remote laptop viewing and easy expansion as needs or budgets change.
