Funivie Arabba S.p.A. SB, which operates ski lifts and slopes in the Italian Dolomites, needed a better way to monitor lift operations, skier safety, and mountain risks such as avalanches and landslides amid constantly changing alpine conditions. The company turned to Milestone Systems and its XProtect video management software to support real-time oversight of the lift system and surrounding ski area.

Milestone Systems implemented an integrated video solution with network cameras, people counting, queue analytics, and audio devices connected via fiber infrastructure. The result was faster, remote access to live and recorded data, helping operators respond more quickly and improve safety for skiers and staff; the system now also supports winter avalanche monitoring and summer landslide surveillance, while giving Funivie Arabba a flexible open platform for future expansion.
