F&M Bank gets clear robbery images for police and newscasters from IP video using Milestone Systems software

Farmers & Merchants Bank of Central California, a 18-branch community bank serving 70,000 customers, needed a cost-effective, reliable digital video surveillance system that could be managed centrally, accessed remotely and provide proactive failure notification. The limitations of their old analog system—and a 2004 robbery that required rapid evidence sharing—made ease of use, image quality and scalability top priorities.

They deployed Milestone XProtect with Vivotek and IQinVision cameras, a Milestone server at each branch, and browser-based remote viewing over an isolated 100 Mbps LAN/WAN, installed by BrightNoise. The system produced clear robbery images that police viewed on scene within 20 minutes, were emailed within an hour and aired that evening; it also enabled 90+ days of archived video, lower costs, simplified maintenance and easy scalability.
