EnviroCOMS, a Queensland spinoff of CoastalCOMS, was asked to develop a next‑generation environmental digital asset management system that could integrate with a video management system (VMS), run in the cloud, and scale to monitor video and environmental data globally. The company needed a solution that would fuse real‑time video, manual and sensor data, and advanced analytics to support projects like beach safety, shoreline erosion monitoring and municipal water management.

EnviroCOMS adopted Milestone XProtect and Amazon cloud infrastructure, using Milestone’s rules engine and their own video extraction and processing (VEAP) workflow to automate camera control, archive video and process environmental analytics. The result is a robust, scalable self‑monitoring platform deployed across multiple international projects (beaches, seaways, wetlands and a Townsville smart‑water pilot), delivering real‑time video+data visibility, reliable storage and actionable reporting for customers and researchers.
