daVinci College, a vocational school in Dordrecht with about 6,800 students, needed a flexible, cost‑effective way to reduce aggression, theft and vandalism on its multi‑building campus and to make it easier to identify perpetrators after incidents. The school also wanted a solution that could be used as a hands‑on training environment for its security students.

The college installed 50 Axis network cameras with Milestone XProtect® software, deployed by partner Venéco, using a mix of fixed, wireless and PTZ cameras to monitor hallways, public areas and courtyards 24/7. The system enabled fast incident review and identification, helped catch offenders, deterred criminal activity (including a drop in drug dealing), reduced police callouts and lowered installation and management costs compared with analog systems — while also providing a practical training platform for students.
