Chippewa Valley School District, serving more than 16,000 students across 22 campuses in Michigan, struggled with a patchwork of outdated analog cameras and hundreds of DVRs that made district-wide monitoring and evidence retrieval slow and inefficient. The legacy system’s low-resolution footage and dispersed storage hindered administrators’ ability to keep students, staff and property safe.

Working with Metro Technology Services and installer Peripheral Vision, the district deployed Milestone XProtect® Corporate with Milestone Federated Architecture™ and 1,400+ Axis HD network cameras (1,475 installed district-wide), centralizing surveillance via XProtect® Smart Client and mobile access. The upgrade delivered department-specific access, 33-day video retention, rapid 45-minute training sessions and a dramatic reduction in security incidents—enabling faster investigations, clearer evidence and more efficient, proactive campus monitoring.
