Eastchester Union Free School District, a five‑campus district in Westchester, NY, needed to replace an outdated analog surveillance system that produced grainy, black‑and‑white footage, often failed to record, and was easily tampered with. The district sought an affordable, higher‑quality, remotely accessible solution to improve student and staff safety.

Working with Select Telecom, Eastchester installed roughly 100 Axis network cameras on its existing VoIP network using VLANs, with continuous recording, password‑protected Internet access and Milestone XProtect management. Authorized staff can view live or archived video from any school; the system reduced theft and vandalism, saved the district thousands in the first year, and is being expanded with PoE perimeter cameras and options to share access with local police.
