Aronson Security Group (ASG) was asked by a medical transport provider and Pacific Northwest hospitals to redesign an emergency transport notification button used by nurses. The existing buttons were unreliable and provided no positive acknowledgement, forcing staff to place time-consuming confirmation calls and incur monthly phone/modem costs—delays that can compromise patient outcomes.

ASG implemented a solution using Milestone XProtect’s rules engine to treat the button as a sensor input and drive a multicolored LED confirmation plus automatic alerts to the transport communications center, and added Axis camera I/O scripting as a redundant email/notification path. The result: instant send/receive confirmation (red/green LED), faster dispatch communications, eliminated phone lines and recurring costs, and rollout to 15–20 sites with plans for wider adoption and additional integrations.
