Anaheim Union High School District uses VMS to prevent crime & optimize safety

Anaheim Union High School District, one of California’s largest districts, needed a way to better protect students and staff while reducing theft, vandalism, graffiti, and other incidents across 20 campuses. Before working with Milestone Systems, the district had only a few disconnected cameras and DVRs, leaving it without a centralized video security system; it chose Milestone’s XProtect® Expert video management software (VMS) to improve monitoring and incident response.

Milestone Systems implemented a district-wide solution that connected more than 1,400 cameras, storage servers, and digital mapping into one platform, with direct access for local police during emergencies. The system was installed ahead of schedule and on budget, immediately detected incidents, improved response times, and helped the district address fence-jumping, theft, vandalism, and other property loss more quickly, while also enabling better training and self-sufficient operations without adding staff.
