Slow AF Run Club, launched by Martinus Evans as a free community for “back of the pack” runners, wanted to move beyond a Facebook group and create a dedicated destination where members could connect, share openly, and access future training programs. With Mighty Networks, Evans sought a simpler way to build a focused community without the distractions of social media and the complexity of stitching together multiple tools.
Mighty Networks helped Slow AF Run Club launch and grow through Community Design Masterclass, a structured weekly engagement calendar, and later Mighty Pro for fully branded iOS and Android apps. The community grew from 40 paying members at launch to 460 after switching to free membership, then doubled again within 24 hours of the app launch and surpassed 20,000 members, with members using features like Members Near Me and showing stronger engagement and trust.
