US Retailer Implements MidVision Extensions to IBM Rational Automation Framework in order to meet business demands for customer improvements

US Retail, a U.S.-based department store chain with more than 1,000 locations, needed a better way to handle growing middleware administration and application release demands as it expanded its digital services. Its largely manual deployment and configuration process lacked visibility, control, and consistency, making it difficult to deliver new functionality quickly. MidVision’s Extensions to IBM Rational Automation Framework were chosen to help automate releases across WebSphere MQ, Message Broker, and WebLogic environments.

MidVision implemented the IBM Rational Automation Framework extensions to automate and standardize application deployment and configuration management across distributed AIX and mainframe z/OS targets. The result was repeatable, predictable releases with faster deployment times, fewer errors and less downtime, and improved productivity and agility.
