UK Bank uses RapidDeploy™ and achieves a 533% productivity improvement when deploying IBM WebSphere

UK Retail Bank, a major UK banking group serving more than 25 million customers, needed a faster, more agile way to deliver frequent application and infrastructure changes across a complex middleware estate. Manual release and environment build processes were creating significant overhead, risk, and delays, especially as demand grew for new WebSphere environments and integrated test setups. MidVision’s RapidDeploy™ application release automation platform was used to help address these challenges.

MidVision implemented RapidDeploy™ to automate WebSphere binary provisioning, environment creation, patching, deployment, and cloning of integrated test environments. The results were substantial: application build time dropped from 4 hours to 14 minutes, WebSphere provisioning completed in just over 12 hours instead of 6 weeks, and the bank reported productivity improvements of 533% and 450% in key workstreams. Overall, the automation enabled tens of thousands of deployments, saved hundreds of man days, and significantly reduced environment defects and delivery times.
