Colt Technology Services Chooses Midokura Enterprise MidoNet for their OpenStack Cloud

Colt Technology Services, a global provider of network, voice, data centre, and managed cloud services, needed to strengthen its OpenStack-based private cloud offering while avoiding costly network appliance upgrades. To support its “Private Cloud Type-S” service, Colt turned to Midokura Enterprise MidoNet for network virtualization and advanced virtual network capabilities.

Midokura implemented MidoNet to deliver virtual L4 load balancing, L2/L3 switching, and virtual firewalls, along with a self-service portal and automated health checks. The result was a simpler, more efficient cloud operation with lower cost and better scalability, while helping Colt speed time to market through close collaboration with Midokura’s Tokyo development team.
