A Microvellum Software Case Study
Frankco & Simon, a New Zealand commercial furniture manufacturer, struggled to implement software they had purchased and were suffering from duplicate data entry and production errors using a pod-and-rail system. Owner Frank Tong revived the project after meeting Tim Veale from Microvellum Software and elected to adopt Microvellum Software’s total design-to-manufacturing solution (Toolbox) to modernize their CNC workflow.
Microvellum Software provided training, support and a nested-based routing workflow that led Frankco & Simon to invest in Biesse Rover A machining centres and fully implement the Microvellum solution. The single-entry system eliminated duplication and human error, rendering times fell from 5–10 minutes to under a minute, output rose 30%, overtime dropped 10%, and the shop retains 25% machine capacity, with plans to add more Microvellum modules.
